HAMILTON WON'T SAVE SILVERSTONE

Lewis Hamilton

Poor old . Not even , it seems, can spare the British Grand Prix from supremo hefty axe. There had been hope in some quarters that Hamilton's emergence on to the Formula One scene this year would aid Silverstone's cause.

It is wrong to blame the failure of Silverstone on Bernie E. Like him or not he has done more to promote F1 and create modern fantastic race circuits than anyone else. The blame lies with The BRDC which runs Silverstone and lives in a different century than the rest of us. The days of jolly good chaps holding a grand prix on an old airfield whilst the plebs look on from behind their protective hay bales are well and truly over. The BRDC should move over and let someone who knows what they are doing run the circuit.
